Macintosh

  • Synium Software today has released Foodurama as Public Beta. Foodurama helps you keep track of what you eat. Not only does Foodurama log all the dishes and beverages you’ve had today, but it also suggests what to eat to ensure a balanced diet. No matter whether you’re trying to stay in shape or regain last year’s physique, Foodurama will enhance your awareness. Foodurama immediately saves all data and incorporates it in its calculations.
  • Severn Software Limited has announced Secrets 1.1, an update to their personal information system for Mac OS X. Secrets uses AES 256-bit encryption to store personal information with confidence. In addition to storing Bank information, Secrets will store passwords, notes and now with version 1.1, serial numbers and registration codes for applications. Secrets gives users the convenience of storing Bank cards on their Mac and making online shopping a breeze.
  • CrumplePop has released SplitScreen, an effect for Final Cut Pro. SplitScreen allows you to easily draw any custom split-screen shape, drop in video clips, and re-center, all within Final Cut Pro. It works right on the Final Cut Pro timeline, without requiring a trip to another application. Choose from among 35 different pre-made split-screens, or mix and match a set of smaller split-screen components to create your own.
  • Toolsfactory software today announced the release of rubiTrack 2.0, a GPS enabled activity tracking software for Mac OS X. Utilizing innovative UI technologies, rubiTrack lets you display, analyze and organize your outdoor activities. rubiTrack is for runners, bikers, walkers, hikers, skiers and everyone else who logs GPS data. rubiTrack reads tracks from GPS enabled devices like the Garmin Forerunner, Garmin Edge, AMOD GPS Trackers, Nike iPod, Suunto and Polar devices and the iPhone 3G.
  • Zevrix Solutions has announced the release of ArtOptimizer 2.3, an update to its workflow automation solution for Adobe Illustrator. ArtOptimizer allows to reduce Illustrator job size and speed up processing by eliminating excess image data and performing essential image adjustments. The software lets users save gigabytes of disk space, accelerate file output and cut costs through faster processing. The new version introduces compatibility with Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard.

iPhone/iPod

  • Nor Eagle has announced that version 1.5 of Ben’s somewhat spiffy-looking but ultimately craptastic rock-paper-scissors game is now available for download. T. Benjamin Larsen, Nor Eagle CEO, Creative Director and hand-model had this to say about the update: “This is by far our biggest update. Rather ironic, as the initial motivation behind the update was simply to change the look of the Insulting Monk to match the look he has in one of our upcoming titles. When revisiting the title, however, we found a lot of things we wanted to improve.”
  • Cramzy has announced 23,000 Great Quotes 1.0 for the iPhone and iPod Touch. Loaded with more than 23000 quotes from movies and celebrities, this is by far the biggest quotes collection. All quotes are contained within the database and placed on the device, so the application does not require users to have an internet connection. Perfect for the office, shop, parties, and social gatherings, 23,000 Great Quotes is sure to raise the mood.
  • Dots, from Cobra Mobile, has arrived on AppStore. Dots is a puzzle adventure game in which you control two characters on screen at once. Using a straightforward and intuitive “touch and drag”  mechanic, you guide your onscreen characters through forty increasingly difficult levels, over four distinct Time Zones.
  • Block Drop Lite is the free version of the addicting strategy/puzzle game which features 3D graphics and dynamically generated music. The lite version allows you to play the first 10 levels of the game. If you like it, you can buy the full version, which is still available at the introductory price of $0.99, and play all 999 levels!
  • Freeverse has announced the Fairy Trails App, a beautiful augmented reality game for iPhone and iPod touch, leveraging the latest technology in iPhone OS 3.1 including camera and compass access.   • iLuv has announced the availability of their best 2009 invention from a new line of enhanced and creative products, the i1166, 9” Portable Multimedia Player for iPod and DVDs. The “CES Best of Innovation 2009” award winner in the Portable Multimedia Accessories product category, the i1166 features an iPod-friendly user interface, and brings hours of widescreen personal multimedia entertainment to travelers starting mid October 2009 for the MSRP of $269.99.
  • Shortcovers second generation iPhone application is now ready for download at the Apple iTunes Store. This new and improved iPhone build brings together easier browsing, WiFi and cellular downloads, an improved user interface, and faster downloads/browsing.
  • TextExpander touch, the iPhone version of SmileOnMyMac’s customizable typing shortcut tool, is now integrated in WriteRoom for the iPhone from Hog Bay Software. WriteRoom users will be able to access their TextExpander snippets while composing notes in the app, rather than first composing notes in TextExpander touch. To celebrate the integration, TextExpander touch is on sale until Wednesday, September 30 at noon Pacific time.

  • comiXology has released its first major update to its Comics app for iPhone. One of the most significant new features is push notification, so you can automatically be notified anytime your favorite comic book series has an update. You can also post to Twitter right from the app, see all the comics you’ve purchased (whether they are currently downloaded or not) and manage your entire collection directly from your library.
