Macintosh

  • The Final Cut Pro User Group Network today announced that the Ninth Annual Las Vegas SuperMeet, scheduled to take place on Tuesday, April 13, 2010 in the Amazon Ballroom at the Rio Hotel in Las Vegas, will be live video streamed over the Internet by Boinx Software and Zaplive.tv. Registration will be required to view the free live video stream which will begin at 6:30PM PST. This SuperMeet is the first to have Adobe, Apple and Avid on one stage together.
  • Cocoamug Software has released CosmoPod 4.3.2, an update to their bright application for Mac OS X. CosmoPod is a one-click simple extension to Apple Safari browser that helps you saving and converting internet media content to a Mac/iPhone friendly format. It’s just like an extra Download window for your media. CosmoPod supports most popular web video formats, including FLV, DivX, WMV, MMS and RTSP. This update mainly improves the application reliability and memory usage.

WhoPaste opens the Daylite or Entourage Task window allowing users to complete the specification. For iCal, WhoPaste provides a custom heads up display window directly beneath the mouse click. WhoPaste provides a similar mechanism for creating contacts in Apple’s Address Book, Google’s Contacts, Marketcircle’s Daylite, and Microsoft’s Entourage.
  • Newegg.com has an exclusive 2-week launch for the Western Digital 600GB Veloci Raptor HDD. With its speed of 10,000 RPM, the Veloci Raptor is the fastest gaming hard drive on the market. The drive uses a SATA-3 interface which makes it’s bandwidth much larger than a traditional hard drive. This brand new HDD also features doubled the capacity over Western Digital’s earlier model.
  • Ettore Software Ltd. has started shipping an enhanced version of its long-standing text expander for Mac, TypeIt4Me. Since 1989, TypeIt4Me has allowed users to set up short abbreviations which expand to words, pictures, phrases, paragraphs or indeed entire pages when typed.

  • Almog Design has released US Gov.Index 1.0.1 for iPhone and iPod touch users looking for a better way to find government information. The application is an alphabetical directory, providing access to thousands of U.S. government agencies and departments. Features include easy access and direct connection to any website of the user’s choice. US Gov.Index removes the information overload and confusion that’s typically present when trying to locate a specific branch of the government.
  • Rega Interactive has released RegaWordJam2 version 2.0 for iPhone and iPod touch users who enjoy wordplay games. The application provides a very interactive way for users to improve their minds while having fun reassembling scrambled words.   • SellYourMac.com has released iFart Video 1.1 for iPhone and iPod touch users. This is the first app that offers video. In an effort to make people laugh using toilet humor, iFart Video captures people’s gassy moments on film, which can then be shared with other users worldwide. Developers are asking users to submit their best fart flicks to be considered for inclusion in future app updates. For additional entertainment, developers have included videos of attractive women passing wind.
  • Encouraged by Apple’s choice to feature Today Todo Pro for the last weeks in the App Store and the tremendous user feedback, Spielhaus refined its productivity app further by adding recurring tasks as well as a built-in web server. Today’s main focus is the creation of an uncluttered yet sophisticated task management app that follows the principle of the fewest taps possible when it comes to interface design.
  • Portable Arts has announced BloXAttack 1.01 for the iPad. BloxAttack is a head to head challenge that involves players trying to clear out their blocks faster than their opponent can clear his/hers. Blocks are controlled by players selecting new pieces that appear on opponents play field. Since there is no limit to the quantity of blocks that can appear, the fun, pace, and intensity only increases with each new round.

  • GameFront has released their newest game, KL Mahjong, to the App Store.
