Posterous’ iPhone app!

Posted in iphone, news on August 21st, 2009 by brent – Be the first to comment

Posterous, the blogging platform service ("the dead simple place to post everything", they say), has released an iPhone app called PicPosterous. The app focuses on photo and video uploading rather than blogging --but I think it's just a matter of time for them to release any cool feature for the iPhone.

pic_posterousPicPosterous' features including:

  • Your iPhone instant camera: Live-post anytime, anywhere
  • Make photo albums as you go: Auto-resized into an easy-to-browse gallery
  • Full-length video capture: Supports iPhone 3G S video, playable on web and iPhone
  • No signup/setup required: Start posting right away
  • Autopost everywhere: Twitter, Facebook, Flickr, YouTube and more

Now it's available on the App Store iTunes link, it's free. Happy posterousing!

Apple is doing very well in the market with its iPhone with robust sales and huge popularity around the globe for the smartphone. The Washington Post reports that with the numbers for Q2 2009 in we now know exactly how well the device is doing.

At the pace Apple has set with 5.2 million iPhones sold over Q2, Apple is on pace to sell over 50 million iPhones by September 2011. To reach that goal Apple only needs to maintain its current market share.

If Apple collaborated with Verizon as well, Analysts say that Apple could sell an additional 11 million units and new deals in Europe and Asia could add 10 million more devices. That is a lot of smartphones any way you cut it and Apple will continue to be a big factor in the market.

HSN app for iPhone launches

I have known a few people over the years that were totally addicted to watching the Home Shopping Network. They would sit there, watch what was offered for sale, and typically buy lots of junk that they really didn’t need or have the money to buy.

HSN IPHONE

If you are a big fan of HSN, a new iPhone app for the network is now available. The application allows users to take the HSN with them everywhere and they can stream live video from the device. The launch of the app creates what HSN calls the first three-screen ecommerce experience.

HSN is now available online, on TV and on the iPhone. The app also provides access to a library of video, shake to shop app that generates random products for purchase when the user shakes the phone.

AT&T sued in U.S. for lack of MMS on iPhone

I have lamented the fact that AT&T lacks MMS support for the iPhone here in America on a few occasions. The lack of MMS isn't Apple's fault, it has offered the capability for a while now, and AT&T is simply blocking the feature as it is blocking tethering.

iphone_mms_lawsuits

Some iPhone users are tired of waiting for MMS support on their iPhones and have decided to take matters into their own hands and have filed suit against AT&T and Apple. A pair of class action lawsuits has been filed against AT&T and Apple over the lack of MMS support for the iPhone.

The first lawsuit was filed in the Southern District of Illinois by Tim Meeker and he claims that AT&T and Apple misrepresented the facts about iPhone support for MMS. The other suit was filed in the Eastern District of Louisiana and is almost identical to the Meeker suit. AT&T has said that MMS would be coming sometime this summer, which is almost over now.
