What?! Dunkin’ Donuts’ iPhone app?

Posted in iphone, news on June 24th, 2009 by brent – Be the first to comment

Yeah. Dunkin’ Donuts have released Dunkin’ Run iTunes link, a free app for the iPhone and iPod touch, allowing their customers to make group orders. "Do you and your friends need to fuel up with Dunkin' Donuts coffee? Be the hero," their companion website says.

dunkinrun_188Here's how it works taken from their website:

  • Invite: Start a run at DunkinRun.com from your computer, mobile device, or our iPhone application . You are now "the runner", and pick which friends you'd like to invite by providing their email or mobile phone number (no spaces or dashes e.g. 1234567890).
  • Order: Select what you want from the menu, and we'll contact your friends and tell them to do the same.
  • Run: Go get the goods. We'll compile all orders for you, and you can print it out or have it sent to your mobile device (if you print it, just hand the print out to the Dunkin' crew member at the shop and they'll take it from there).
  • Enjoy! Bring the goodies back, and enjoy the deliciousness, along with the hero worship from your friends.

$30 iTunes credit for iPhone 3GS activation delays

Posted in iphone, news on June 23rd, 2009 by brent – Be the first to comment

Apple is offering an apologetic $30 iTunes credit for the activation delays for iPhone 3GS. The credit itself will be available on Monday, Apple says. Full text after the break!

Dear Apple Customer,

Thank you for your recent Apple Store order. We appreciate your patience and apologize for the inconvenience caused by the delay in your iPhone activation.

We are still resolving the issue that was encountered while activating your iPhone with AT&T. Unfortunately, due to system issues and continued high activation volumes, this could take us up to an additional 48 hours to complete.

On Monday, you’ll receive an email from Apple with an iTunes Store credit in the amount of $30. We hope you will enjoy this gift and accept our sincere apologies for the inconvenience this delay has caused.

Thank you for choosing Apple.

Sincerely,

Apple Online Store Team

Apple iPhone 3G S officially launches!

Posted in iphone, news on June 21st, 2009 by brent – Be the first to comment

June 19th can only mean one thing: it's iPhone 3G S day. We've been in New York City this morning to check out the queues and crowds outside Apple's 5th Avenue flagship store.

The lines may be less impressive than in previous years, but we've a feeling that's down to many people pre-ordering for home delivery.  Apple changed their tactics for 2009, switching back to allowing individual iTunes activation at home rather than demanding buyers stop by an Apple or AT&T store.

Later on this morning we'll be meeting with an Apple VP to discuss the launch and talk about what makes the iPhone 3G S special.  Plus we'll have our own hands-on first impressions with the smartphone, together with live photos and video.  Keep reading iPhone Buzz!
